“Dăruieşte din inimă” (“Give from the heart”) Campaign awarded in Romanian PR Award 2007

Blood giving campaign “Dăruieşte din inimă” organized by LaborMed Pharma and React Association was awarded Special Award for Continuous Quality in the PR Award Gala Night.

(Bucharest, 7 November 2007) Forum for International Communications awarded last night, in the premises of the Romanian Opera, the awards of the Romanian Public Relations industry. Out of the 100 campaigns submitted in the competition for Romanian PR Award, the international jury nominated 16 commercial and 12 social campaigns. “ Dăruieşte din inimă” Campaign, organized by LaborMed Pharma and REACT Association was awarded Special Award for Continuous Quality, in the category of social campaigns.

Tony Meehan, CEO TMA Communications Scotland, member of the jury, declared in laudatio:

What we awarded about this program is that it is an ongoing development continuing over the years (...) and it hasn’t stood still, it has continued to grow, to develop. (...) It is a very difficult subject, asking you for your blood (...)This is a great demonstration of a successful PR campaign.

The campaign was carried-out between the 21st of May and the 10th of June 2007 in 12 centers across the country and mobilised students, journalists and employees of large companies, together with 150 volunteers. Over 4,000  litres of blood were collected from 9,000 blood donors. Thus, the main objective of the campaign was met 200%. Moreover, the campaign set a new national record in blood donation in a mobile unit: in one single day, 200 donors “gave from their hearts” blood in the tent located in the hallway of the Polytechnic University in Bucharest.

The award won in the most important Romanian PR competition represents  an acknowledgement of Labormed Pharma’s involvement in social responsibility actions with a significant impact in  Romanian society.
